Our fore fathers were Gaeseong’s merchants for generations
who made and sold traditional oriental stationery.
My grandfather professionally made “Boot”(traditional writing brush) in order to succeed to family
business and sold Boot throughout the countryt, and then finally settled in Insa-Dong about 70 Years ago
and managed an ancient stationery store.

My grandmother was also from Gaeseong just like my grandfather and made Gaeseong-style dumplings very well
and lots of neighbors would like to taste her dish. At that time, my mother who was handed down
the secret recipe opened a dumpling restaurant named “KOONG” in order to share Grandma’s excellent with
Grandma’s commitment to the taste.

In her life, my grandmother always emphasized the taste of food is determined by how much love is dedicated
to the food when it is made.

We will do our best to keep Grandma’s affection and enthusiasm for Gaeseong’s dumpling to our heart and soul.

My grandmother opened Gaeseong traditional dumpling restaurant “KOONG”
with my mother where we lived together.

My grandmother, born in Gaeseong, always had deep attachment to dumpling and said
“the mote passion you put in dumpling, the more delicious it will taste.”

The love and passion gorGaeseong dumping will go on from my grandmother to her daughter-in law, and to me,
and to my daughter. We will always do our best to keep my grandmother’s passion for Gaseong dumpling.
